Do you see the screaming red Rhododendrons gently making a retreat? Do you smell the giggling apple blossoms shyly refusing to bloom? Do you hear the butterflies, the reigning monarch butterflies, fatigued, somehow striving to beat their wings?

In the Kulu valley of the Himalayan regions, monarch butterflies, essential for pollination of the renowned apple orchards and farms that are integral to the valley's economy, are on the decline due to vehicular traffic, a situation that cries for urgent attention. Lily Rowles uses art as an agency to demonstrate the severity of the issue, as she utilises the stunning red of the Rhododendrons in contrast with the bleak, almost eerie darkness of the slowly degrading milieu.
